    twine archway

I'm thinking of wrapping some creeping jenny on some twine like material to make an archway. Any suggestions on what material to use? I can't think of anything. The crossstitch sheets are black or white... I could technically use it but it won't look the greatest...

    ???
You need to post some pics of this...... sounds very interesting...... good luck.

Hmmmmm... Perhaps reticulated foam.. the black stuff made into an arch... the roots could take hold and still get water circulation

ohhh thats nice!, maybe you can use piece of driftwood and tie them together, maybe with moss too! but then again the moss might cluster up when it grows out.

My cousin owns a flower shop and she uses wicker strapped to a frame to make archways for weddings and such. She sometimes uses green bamboo strips, but it's very time consuming and you have to weave it just right or you'll end up breaking the slats.

I've helped do some of the weaving before and I can tell you it's not fun

The easiest way to make this type of archway is with a wire so thin that can be bent, and so thick that it has enough volume to sustain some weight. This type of wire is very easy to find at any local hardware store. You can make it in just under 5 minutes.
