    FORUM RULES

    There have been questions about what the forum rules are and where they are located. This post will help to answer these questions.


    -The general forum rules are stated in the registration agreement as well as posted in THIS THREAD.

    -The rules are basically to go about the club without inappropriate language and content (including substitute letters and symbols in reference to such language and content) since this is a family friendly site/club where minors and fellow members should not and prefer not to be exposed to it.

    -There are also the basic no spamming, threatening others or flaming/trolling (purposely causing disruptions in the club).

    -The Tradewinds and Group Buys forums have their own rules "which must be read before participating" !(TRADEWINDS RULES & GROUP BUY RULES).

    - All members grant permission to Southern California Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts (SCAPE) for the use of the photograph(s) or electronic media images posted or shared on the forum in any presentation of any and all kind whatsoever. Photos used will be given credit to original owner. *Members may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying a member of the SCAPE Board.*

    From time to time, we may post clarifications/amendments to the forum rules if and when needed. But for now the club is open to help each other out in a safe and friendly manner.

    You can always ask anyone on the moderating team if you have any specific questions since we all had to agree to a multi-page mod guideline before becoming mods.

    *All information transmitted on scapeclub.org is under the observation of the site monitors and the sender should have no expectation of privacy. All manner of communication must adhere to the club policy regarding content, etiquette, attacks, (as stated in these Rules here: http://scapeclub.org/forum/showthrea...l=1#post191624). Violations along these lines could result in disciplinary actions up to and including banning from the site and SCAPE gatherings.

    Guidelines for posting negative vendor/seller reviews.

    As for reviewing a vendor/store on our site it is permitted in the following forum if several conditions are met:

    - You have tried to work it out directly (email, phone, PM) with the involved party(ies) and the deal has ENDED in a negative way. If negotiations are still ongoing, it is not a good thing to post the negatives in public.

    - The thread/posts should consist of a truthful account of the experience without angry/derogatory remarks about the involved parties (it just makes it less legit if it starts as a flaming post/thread).

    - The thread/posts may be edited, closed or deleted at the discretion of the moderating team. This will happen if a shouting/flaming match develops between the involved parties (buyer/seller) or even if it involves another member who was previously not involved with the deal.

    The reasons for the above conditions are to protect you, the club and other members from legal actions on the part of the vendor/seller or other involved parties (it has happened before on other sites). So if you post please do so with the above guidelines.

    Hi everyone, we are getting more and more new members as we grow and they will be of different background (age, race, gender, etc.). The club will stand by our original goal of being a "Family Friendly" site where all members can participate to share and find help if needed. Thank you for your understanding and for your support in making this a great club for all members.

    Post Reminder of Forum Rules

    This is a reminder all club members and forum users that SCAPE and it site is a family friendly club that has members of all ages, from preteens to adults. Please help to keep this site and club a Safe and Friendly place for all. Here are a couple of ways you can do this:

    -Use the "Report Post" tab at the bottom of a post that
    -Send a PM to a moderator (they have user names and titles that id them as moderators), *all communications are confidential.

    Once the reports or PM's are received they will be addressed.

    Official Infraction/Violation point system

    The following is the official list of Violations and the Infraction points assigned to each one. Every time a member has committed a violation they will be sent a notice (Official Warning) that will be on the members record. If 3 points of infractions are reached the member will be automatically banned by the site system.

    *Immediate actions (including banning) for extreme behavior (ie. violent threats, illegal activities, or repeated/blatant disregard for the rules/guidelines).



    NOTE:
    Religious, Political/Legislative topics are moderated and edited on our site. They tend to be hot topics that detract from our main interest of the hobby.

    Signatures and Avatars may be edited at the discretion of the moderators.
    SCAPE Members are allowed to upload signature images but can only use at maximum dimensions: 300 width by 150 height pixels.

    Update: Spamming and Unapproved Adds/Promotions.

    Any Advertising and/or Promotion of Businesses/Organizations/Services that are not "pre approved" (ie. belong to SCAPE club supporters/sponsors) will be edited and removed and may be considered spamming.

    Please PM the SCAPE Moderating Team if you have questions about becoming a supporter or about the site rules/regulations.

    *Spamming Advertisements/Promotions of businesses/organizations and Religious, Political/Legislative matters will be moderated and/or edited on our site.
