Where did you find your female Scarlet Badis? I had a couple gals ten years ago and did get them to breed, but I was visiting A+ Tropical Fish in Temple City religiously to hunt them down.

I would love to breed those little jewels again please let me know if yours breed or you want to rehome I've got some leafy greeny spendy money for ya!

Thanks! I've been visiting Tropical Imports (Glendale) for more than half a year now and had no luck up until recent. I've had them for about a month and since then they've begun displaying orange bars (2-5 depending) on their side. Maybe I was too hasty to label them as females haha.

Since posting this thread I've separated them to see if they will color up but they still remain grey and small
From the reading they shouldn't display red or blue and should have clear fins. I think the one on the right is the male and the one on the left is female. I'll post more recent pics of the 2 so more eyes can assess if they are male, female, or juvenile. If they end up breeding I'll let you know.

I keep reading that females are all grey so my hopes are down. Darn, well I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the pics, it's pretty rare to see such clear ones. Generally the ones I see at Tropical Imports all have some bit red/orange on them.

10 Gallon

I ended up starting an old 10 gallon from storage. I think it will house my Chili Rasboras, Sparkling Gourami, Pygmy Corys, and Otocinculus. Currently I have 3 of my larger gouramis' in there with plans to lets things grow out before introducing my other fish. Still undecided on what to plant but most likely I will reuse my trimmings for all of it. I also want to start breeding everything I have so I'm thinking of raising the fry in the smaller tanks since they have plentiful live food/microfauna.
