Read some reviews about missing parts, rodent droppings in the box and light failures but the majority of reviews were good and I figured those were random isolated issues.
Nope. I have had Finnex LEDs on my tanks for a long time without any issues. After opening the 24/7, I am very disappointed with the quality. One of my 24/7 arrived missing remote and parts with light shorted out. The lights feel flimsy and cheaply built compared to my old ones.
The other appears to be working but I am now concerned. Will keep an eye on it for the next week or two.
Nice! Thanks for keeping us updated Angel. I’m a fan of the Finnex lights myself. I don’t use the 24/7 feature cuzz they would never shut down. I just have them on timer. What size tank you got there? Keep us posted on how they do.
If finnex would open the 24/7 to use configurable, it would be one of the absolute best out there. It still is not the brightest, but that can be fixed with two of them.
Like aquamaniac, I ended up just changing my setting to a manual timer, because I had it in my bedroom and it never turns all the way off.
120g. After a week I am beginning to really like them. No algae blooms. Red on plants are really starting to pop. I give them 5 hours of extra Finnex LEDs and CO2 during midday and then the lights cycles to sunset, moon glow and sunrise. I wake up early and enjoy seeing the tank lit up when I come down for coffee.
I am really liking them. I turned down my other lights a bit and have not had any major algae issues running them 24/7. Red plants have really rich color.
I would give them 4 stars because of the one bad package I received, but Amazon replaced it right away and since then they have been amazing.
I don't know....knocking down your review 20% on a light you consider "amazing" due to a shipping mishap that was quickly corrected seems excessive.
I am very satisfied with this light....I like the color...and I like the way it sits up just a little higher so my floating plants can maneuver beneath it.
