    Better Diffuser in a Flora

    Hey all,

I was looking for a recommendation for a better diffuser. I am currently using the cheap Fluval one from a 88g set. Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

Glass mr. Aqua or up aqua. Make sure you soak for a few hours before use.

CK has some nice metal ones from hydra-aquatics. http://www.aquacave.com/hydra/

always soak any diffuser for CO2 in water for at least an hour, 2 is better, before use. That is why most of the CO2 diffusers at the Pet Expo weren't working optimally, most just hooked them up and let it go. I soaked mine overnight in one of my other tanks at the expo.

Also will the aquacave, up or mr aqua diffuse better? What is better to look for? I know I am interested in a one piece. But I want better diffusion.

You could also get an atomizer from Green Leaf Aquariums, but they're rather pricey.

How do atomizer compare to disc diffusers? I have hobs so inline just wont work. @Barliman have you used a Green Leaf atomizer?

I just want better than the one that comes with the Fluval 88.

Did you read the instruction that came with the global setup? It says right in there to soak before use. Rob I talked to you about that at Pet expo, I soaked mine and got fine bubbles. Everyone else set them up dry and got uneven large bubbles. The glass diffusion disk needs to be thoroughly wet to work properly.

Ps all glass diffusers will work about the same.

Well it was two fold. Wondering about a better option for easy placement. I like te long ones that you don't need a suction cup on. Two, better diffusion. I guess I will soak my other diffuser (same type) and swap them and then bleach the current one.

I just got a really nice Green Leaf Atomizer for $35. It solved my noisy diffuser issue and it has lovely fine bubbles.

Just as a side note, I've gone back to the glass diffuser (unknown brand) because the fine bubbles of the Green Leaf make the tank look cloudy. They are best suited for larger tanks unless you don't mind the cloudier look.
