2 years ago this week I packed up everything I own into a trailer, loaded up my 140 lbs dog and a 5 gallon home depot bucket full of my fish/plants into a SUV and drove from Chicago to LA.
In August I will be moving from LA to Dallas for work, same fish/plants and same bucket
Anyone where from Dallas? Is there a similar SCAPE like community there?

It stands for the Dallas Fort Worth aquatic plant club.... not as catchy as "SCAPE" though... their regular website is down, so hopefully they're still active on FB... if you check em out, please let us know how the two clubs compare...

There is a huge community in Austin.
Dallas* to Austin is like San Fran to Long Beach. So that does not really help you.
You should be able to find a good community, but where to start? Good luck!

Austin to Dallas on a good day is 4 hours (i know people in the area)

Once i get to arvin, i drive way too fast.
I stay off the 5 with the lambos and corvettes, though.
My timer starts once i get to Steinbeck, and ends when i get to the windmills outside the carbon 13 laboratory at Livermore.
It's been 10 years since I lived in Arlington so take with a grain of salt it used to be all about saltwater there not much freshwater just basic African cichlid stuff....... they did have some good pet stores but it's always a drive to get them. LA has pretty much become the same now so not sure if DFW area will be worse now or not.
