Hey all
I am looking for a light for my new Ultum Nature Systems 90l its a 36x12x12. I am probably going to take flak but some lights just look horrible to me. Anything Finnex or Satellite just look cheap to me. I would prefer a light that has a stand or a gooseneck mount since where I have the light a light bar or ceiling mount is kinda difficult, But for the right light i could somehow make a light bar out of bar stock work.
Features I'm looking for
Full spectrum LED RGB
Sleek minimalist design
Programmable Stand alone or with an Apex controller, Sunrise Sunset
Multi channel, Reef light channels can be turned off until I switch to the Dark side
After checking out a friends Nanobox Duo I was almost sold on picking up a Quad Plus. It has everything I could ask for except price is a little high $725. I'm no stranger to high end stuff and I really don't mind spending but for due diligence I started looking at options.
So far I am looking at:
ADA RGB.+ looks, great color - no control at all, Price, needs to be hung
Not sure if the LED can be dimmed at all, If you know or have one let me know
Nano Box Quad plus + Fully controllable, looks good, expandable into SW - Price
Twinstar 901 S series New light not sure what it has or details trying to gather them, looks amazing with metal legs compared to the E serise
Twinstar 901 E series + looks, color - legs look cheap and have heard of bad QC, Control/Dimming is unknown, if you know let me know
Nemolight Aquafresh +fully controllable, color, price - looks cheap, So far FW version not for sale in US and is almost double price of the Salt water version online
Chihiros A-series plus + color, price, stand compared to regular A-series - brightness is controllable but that is about all
Chihiros A-series + color, PRICE PRICE PRICE - stand is horrible compared to others, brightness is controllable but that is about all
Well if you have any experience with these or have anything that looks like it will fit the look and feel let me know, Can be fresh or saltwater as long as it is fully controllable. I really hope some of these companies see that with LED its all about control like the reef community has had for years. I know ADA will never as they have there lights built as part of a system but its time for others to step up and deliver lights on par with Reef lights........ And make them look pretty hahahah
