Test kit arrived. RO and some soda ash and calcium carbonate should come in today. Heater seems like it kicks on around 78 at its minimum setting. Tank is hovering around 79 daytime temp with the big fan on it. Got a black bar chromis last night. Percula tries to give it a bad time but its too fast. Pretty neat looking little fish, never have seen these before.
If I ever get that far, where the heck do you buy macros at?? I don't recall seeing them in the local shops.
Gotta trade them from other members. I remember giving one snip of red Dragon and Dragon breathe macro to an X scape member. Grew so fast, he made good money off it
RODI came in, trying to convince my baby mama it should mount on the laundry area wall. It does make a lot of sense.. Still not sure what I'm doing about lighting on this thing, still running my old desklamp from 2010. I have seen some two foot 120v LED tubes at 5k color temp for sale cheap. I might try a couple of those glued to my hood. I don't care too much about having that pimpy blueish light.
Saw some green macros at the LFS. Gonna stop by today and ask about it. Last time down there we got a peppermint shrimp. Everybody seems happy now that the temp is staying around 81. I'm calling the tank fully broke in now. I have my little scratched up 20g acrylic out in the driveway. Want to get something setup so I can have the non macro friendlies separated. That is gonna take some convincing though.. had a bad enough time getting tank #1 up.
Came back from a work trip and all my fish are dead. I'm guessing over feeding but who knows. I think I'm going to take another few years off. Be back in 2018!
Back a year late, 2019 updated fry pic.. sleeping under her ameca splendens bed tank.
Going to try to dig out this 35 again and try salt again. Maybe my 90 also. If they are still solid. Awful lot of cracks and discolor in these old plastic tanks, but they seem to still hold water.
I'm really diggin these "new" freshwater fish I ran across. Not looking to get into deep into salt. I'll probly just do a low maintenance damsel/molly tank. Same type of deal as years back at the start of the thread. Except this time if I go out of town I'll leave explicit instructions that will be NO FEEDINGS. I found my salt-o-meter so that is good.. got to dig through the garage and find a few other things.
