if tank is acrylic then be careful what you use. The LFS should have a scrubber pad safe for acrylic. If it's a glass tank, then you have a lot more options.

I use the API Algae Pad or a Kent Marine Pro-Scraper.

I used a maxed out credit card, or expired DL. I use my scaping tool alot when I don't want to get my hands deep in the tank. If its really hard to get off, sometimes a razor. I get scared though when I'm near the edges where the silicon is.

Nope....no chemicals / cleaners added to it either....it's just a smooth pad and you rub the algae right off... off course, you may need other means for real tough spots - but I used these constantly during my weekly large water changes and regular maintenance....mine is a glass tank...

If you use the Magic Eraser then get the original because the Kitchen scrubber and the Bathroom scrubber editions do contain chemical cleanser.

So I have scratched the hell out of my aquarium...... and have no idea how I did it.

I have a glass aquarium....and have used a Scotch Brite Dobie Scrubber...and a Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pad.

I am convinced that the pads themselves did not scratch my glass....so something must haver gotten into the pad or scrubber.

I have some really stubborn algae that I have neglected.....and had to put a lot of force into scrubbing it...and while I got rid of a lot of it...I scratched the hell out of my glass doing so and now I am afraid to do any cleaning.

    Help!
