I'm in the variety phase, although I came to the conclusion last weekend that I am light deficient, the aqueon I have on there is 10 x better than what I had but its not doing well with the floor of my 55, my 10 gallon i use for quarantining and rooting stems does ok with the same light but has half the depth. Fluval 3.0 shows up monday.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread.

I like the light brand LifeGuard. Thats what i use. Also my tank is close to a window, not getting direct sunlight, but i think that around 1 hour a day the sun hits the tank with natural sunlight. Perhaps, the glass take out a lot of the light waves.

The red one is a tiger lotus, the other i think is a red flame flame sword. I bought a bunch of swords in that batch and they got a little mixed in the grow out tank.

    https://www.jacobsaquarium.com/featured/tiger-lotus
    https://www.jacobsaquarium.com/echinodorus/red-flame

I have no affiliation with Jacob's aquarium other than being a happy customer. Every thing I bought from him has been twice the size and a fraction of the price of my LFS(he is 45 minutes away but ships cheap).

That lotus came as a stem transplant from another store, but if I could do it again it i would get the bulb, because it make propagation easier

I'm waiting to see what happens now that I have a real light on the tank, I've had alot of problems growing on the floor of that tank.

I have one flame sword in my tank and they evolved quite different cause of the enviroemt disturbances. The way i wanted, but looks nicer with the brownish red leaf at the center, it was like this when first growing in my tank.

    What is your substrate?

I have pockets of controsoil capped with a mix of river gravel, drainage rock, flourite.

    https://nolansaquarium.co/collection...own-extra-fine

All my plants go into a 10 gallon in terracotta and yogurt jars( recycled). I start growing roots on them, because my bulldozer goldfish will rip stems out like a black Friday sale if there are none.

Those plants are maybe a month old and got transplanted maybe 2 weeks before that picture was taken.

I have a combination of flourish tabs and niloc g tabs. Also the tank has a reef doser with: flourish, iron, potassium, nitrogen; and 2 co2 diffusers.

    Goldfish are stubborn lol
If i think my tank is pretty cause it has a manual diffuser that i turn on once daily, yours will be flooded with plants even faster. Super nice, wish u success

A little shot of my substrate layers, and a shot of the flame,

I also have a lot of mini lava rock mixed in as well as filter media bags full of lava rock that makes the hills

My co2 is on an alexa plug, the heaters and hob filters are as well, so I can tell alexa to water change and it shuts off the filters and heater till I'm done,

I got my co2 splitter last week so now I can run two in the main tank and one in the grow out tank . I tried doing it with tee's but it never worked I always ended up with heavy flow from one difuser and a dribble from the others.

Even with 2 diffusers my co2 never really registers on the drop guage, its more of a distance thing, half the tank was getting co2 the other wasnt and I didn't want to put a power head in to push the co2 around.

Your tank is awsome, and I really like your fish selection, had I realized I was going to get the plant bug and how destructive the goldfish would be would have gone another direction. As is, all the comet goldfish got rehomed into my friend pond and the fancys will probably go in mine after I finish my backyard.

Omg man, i wish i have this gear but i dont have the budget, just the passion hahahaha. Anyway, i try to give my tank the best quality.

In my tank i choose fish from americas as well as the plants, i might have some foreign plants but no worries for me. They are spawning every 2 weeks cause of the water parameters.

    Thank you

Beautiful tank. You've managed a jungle look without looking overgrown.

    Any advice?

    About 50 hours ago:
    I gave it a trim
    Changed ph for apistosgramas season
Did not clean algae cause it is a food source

    In the next 48 hours:
    Adding almond leaves
    Adding jackfruit leaves
    Filter maintenance

    Thank you very much
