how to dispose of a cracked aquarium?

About a month or two ago, my 20G high cracked at one corner, and I spent a fun couple of days switching everything over to a new aquarium. I haven't yet thrown away the old one, because I'm not sure how. The glass is cracked but it's not broken (no glass edges or anything), should I set it next to my garbage? Do I have to take it somewhere to get rid of it? Break it down to glass panels and recycle? What's the best thing to do?

If you feel you can do so safely, you can break it down and place it into either your waste bin or recycling. If your city offers bulk item pick up, you can call their holiness and place the complete item next to your bins.

If you do decide to break down the tank make sure you practice good safety and wear protective gear

Just drop it into your garbage or recycling bin/dumpster. It's just glass and possibly a little bit of silicone and plastic. Nothing that is banned from a landfill.

I've had this happen to me on a 10 gallon tank. It was not cracked but was leaking from the corner. It was an old tank but I wanted to make use of the glass panes so I took It apart. Makes great lids also nice work station cover to protect soft surfaces. If you were near I would pick up but you are too far.
