    Back at it: 30c Iwagumi scape

    Hey all. I recently got the bug to set up a tank. Posting some pictures here to see what you think and document the progress. So here it goes.... let me know what you think and I open to suggestions. I havenít set up up a new tank in years so this nano will have to do for now.


    -ADA 30c
    -Mr Aqua 12Ē cube stand
    -Twinstar 300s(running) but also have original ADA Aquasky 301 Iím not sure which I like more at this point...
    -Eheim 2211
    -ADA lily pipe mini v1 & mini spin 10mm outflow
    -Smith 2 stage regulatr with nv55 needle valve on a 5lb Co2 tank


    Plants: All plants from ADA tissue culture cups
    Foreground - Glosso
    Mid- UG
    Back left - Rotala sp. Bangladesh
    Back right - Rotala so mini butterfly

    Hardscape: Dragon Stone (Ohko stone)
    Soil: ADA Amazonia Light

    After Flood: Week 1 with Aquasky

    Thanks for sharing. Iwagumi is the most difficult scape in my opinion. I would suggest the dry start method. Also sloping you’re substrate a bit steeper. Finally the stones look best in odd numbers and have a certain “flow” so arrangement of stones should point in the same direction for the most part. Welcome back to the hobby BTW.

    Update11-1-19: The Glosso and Rotala’s are filling in nicely. Removed Twinstar m3. Water changes have been twice a week. Zero noticeable algae. Dosing microbe lift line of ferts including carbon. The UG is finally starting to take, and overall I’m enjoying this layout. But am already ready to rescape this tank. Here is the growth at three weeeks. My hardscape is a bit lack luster, I wish the stone was taller and that I had room to have left my 5th stone in place. Cubes are tricky and that should be part of the update.

    Wow those colors really pop. Great scape and flora choice. Looks like the aquasky is giving some good ambience. I was really interested in the Aquasky. how are you liking it?
