Trouble with utricula graminifolia

I tried DSM to grow a carpet of UG (tissue culture) twice and both times had to flood due to mold problems after only 2 weeks. I tried a range of planting methods, from deep into the substrate to laying the clumps on the substrate. First time around fertilized using nilocg thrive and second time kept it on the nutrient poor side due to reports of nitrates causing melting and the fact that UG grows in nutrient poor marshes. Both times injected CO2. At this point I'm at a loss as to why UG melted within a week of flooding.

Mr. Aqua base layer topped with tropica fine substrate
Low KH and pH due to substrate buffering
Salvinia minima on the surface to avoid any possible nutrient buildup to avoid algae

Nice layout. From my experience I let the UG float first to adapt it to immerse State. The tissue culture I got was dying from the bottom so I trimmed off the roots and left whatever trimming was left floating on top. UG can grow runners from the trimmed blades. I was able to salvage maybe 1/8th of what was in the cup from trimmings. Once I see about 2-4 cm of growth from trimmings I would plant it. Took about 2 months to fill half of a 60p tank. What substrate did u use? Any ferts or CO2? It's a carnivorous plant but there are reports of it thriving with those.

I use ada soil, co2 and dose array of seachem products once a weak or so when I do water changes.

Ug isnt all to hard to grow if you how to do so, there is so much misinformation and even lack of information about it. It actually doesnt need co2 to grow (however it is beneficial) because its carnivorous. Is also doesn't have roots, and stays in the substrate via runners.
