    Shrimp tank size

Quick question....how many Neo shrimp can I keep in a little 2.5 to 3 gallon tank like a Fluval Ebi?

I know bigger is better there is a specific spot thatís perfect for a little tank so Iím wondering if itís gonna be problematic or not...especially since they breed so much.

I believe the general rule is 5 to 10 per gallon. I personally would not go above 20 in that size, as you are going to expect them to breed.

Yikes, thatís not many at all. Was hoping I could get away with more since I see some tanks that are literally crawling with shrimp. Thanks for the response.

Start with 20. Theyll build up to a hundred before too long, but you don't want to overload the tank.
Theyre somewhat self-limiting, as water quality drops reproduction slows.

I know people with 600+ in a 40 gallon tank. You can probably keep up to 60-80 shrimps in there if you want.

I have pure red lines in a 3.5g and they are breeding like crazy. I have yellow neos in a 3g I got from John. I have blue diamonds from Angel that I keep in a 5g. All breeding super heavy and I cant sell them fast enough. It's all about water quality, have a smaller tank I have a hob filter as well as a sponge filter. Doing water changes once a week 10%.
