    New low tech set up

Set up my new low tech tank today. Using some soil that get from Home Depot, cap with some black sand from my old tank. Hopefully can work out.

Very nice. Just a tip, If you are going to plant the anubias directly in the substrate, make sure that the rhizome is not buried

They are not in the substrate. Just some roots to holding them down.

If your anubias float out of the substrate for any reason, try this. Tie the anubias to a small piece of stone. Just bury the stone portion leaving rhizome exposed. I hate trying to bury just the roots. Can't seem to get the anubias settled in the right spot.

I did use small rock to hold them, but it didn’t look good, that’s why I done it this way.

I like all your anubias in there What's that spiky plant in the middle background (and a little in the foreground)?

They look like they might be 2 different plants but the taller one is most likely proserpinaca palustris

After set up 5 days, everything looking good, most plants start glowing beside the little plant in the front-ground was gone. Seems the way that I done with the tank is ok. Also there few cherry shrimps I put into the tank still alive. This is a success cheaper way for set up. I will keep update later.

Remove the Val plants from the left side corner. Replace the golden anubias from my other tank.
