Both look like Cladophora, what caused it is introduction and proper environment. Treatment h2o2 via syringe squirt directly on affected areas slowly. Follow up with excel via syringe over affected area use 2 x tank dosage. Make sure filters are off 10 min before - 20 min after treatment. Repeat multiple days in a row until completely gone.

Thank you! I kept trying to scrap and brush it off and it's not going anywhere! Will it affect shrimp and fish?

Will what affect the shrimp and fish the algae or the treatment? I suppose neither will as long as you follow directions. Both h2o2 and excel are safe if recommended dosage is being followed.

Sorry, yes I ment the treatment, but thank you for answering it anyways. How often should I dose this treatment? I'm afraid my bottle of h2o2 was a little old, I used the last of it and it didnt explode with bubbles, as I imagine a full strength one would.

H2o2 is very safe. It is an insider trick to provide oxygen to the tank of you are without power for an extended period of time.

It does also potentially damage your nitrogen cycle when you use it to oxygenate the water, so i still prefer to use battery bubblers for the task, but like Carlo made example of, isolated treatment will have little to no effect on your nitrogen cycle.
