Dear Lord....warning put on sun glasses...

Hey folks! Here's our attempt at the first aquarium LOL! This is like someone stabbed a clown and stuffed it into an aquarium but this is our first one. Obviously, I lost the battle on this one. That being said, with the placement there's some room for some live plants any recommendations? I know the gravel is less than ideal but that's what I'm dealing with right now LOL
**** my daughter and her strong will.

I hope you get as much of a laugh out of this as I do.
Obviously we are at the break-in. And fish are the next step.

I think adding anubias won't look out of place. Their leaves are smooth, yet thick and sturdy. They sometimes almost look like plastic themselves. Also, since you have a tall tank and aren't worried about ground plants needing light, adding some floaters might help with all the open space up top. They would appeal to most fishes and may even entice your daughter to want more live plants.

Not bad, imho. Pretty impressive for a non planted. Glad you got to do white gravel.

Anubias are a good choice. Maybe even some floaters.

I agree with the Anubias suggestion, though I'm not sure what they'd attach to.

I had a tank similar in style to this (except with much louder gravel, and an air-powered treasure chest) when I was young. They're fun, enjoy them!

I think the tank has a certain je ne sais quois. Either way it's pretty cool to fuel your daughters interest in aquariums, I'm sure it'll evolve into something that you'll have fun with too.

before i would choose plants i would let it cycle some and then see what kind of fish your daughter wants to stock it with if she choose's gold fish or koi or glow fish i would leave it as is if she likes the guppies and other nano fish go with the anubias and floaters and swords in your gaps so that you wouldnt need to change out your light and keep cost down just my 2 cents anyways good job on being the good dad

It looks like a tank from a Pixar movie - and for a kid I would say that qualifies as awesome! I don't think live plants would work, but if you had to then maybe consider moss or other 'micro plants' in some of those suction cup holders on the back glass but I'm with @Zenzu on this and think it looks good. I also think Daddy deserves his own tank elsewhere in the house.
