Help has anyone used this product to protect bottom glass of aquarium

Looking to put this plastic on the bottom glass to protect it from the rock I'm setting up a african cichlid tank*
Looking for feed back on if it's safe to use*
    Its 100% waterproof*
    And doesn't create bacteria*

Yea the light diffuser / egg crate is a much better choice. Works great as a tank divider for large fish too

The light diffuser grid is going to do a better job holding the rock than the flat sheet.
