The light I have has rgb and justin from h2o plants recomend it to me. He also said he used it and it worked well.

Is rotala rotundifolia orange juice harder to care for than regular rotundifolia? I might also try hra, since it's a variation of rotundifolia, but it does need a bit more care

I'm resurrecting this thread to ask, should I get it again?

I sold all the jungle val at the meet, so theres much more light. If not, what looks like it the most, I've been looking at Bacopa caroliniana, compact, and monnieri

Sure, give it another go. Plant it dead center under the light. Separate a little and start an emersed culture so at least you retain specimens to later try again if you fail.

Ok, how would I do an emersed culture? Should I just keep the container and liquid (tropica), then put tale over it and leave it near the aquarium so it can get some light?

A smaller than normal dsm (dry start method) set up. Water tight container, substrate, plants and light source. Mist with water at least 1 time per day.

A lot of times you get food containers that have a black bottom portion and a clear cover that snaps in place forms an okay seal. One example is rotissieri chicken from the grocery store comes in a container like this. Another is deli containers even Tupperware just make sure it has enough room for the plants to grow.

Could I just reuse the tropica tissue culture liquid?

Why exactly would you want to? Dirt from your backyard would work better especially since that gel since opened has been exposed to all sorts of things and if you continue to provide it moisture, warmth and light. You have the possibility to Culture all sorts of unwanted things many of which can be harmful. I.e. bacteria, fungus, mold.
