    IE meet ideas

We have quite a bit more presence, lately, in the IE, guys! Wooohooo!

I am curious about everyone, especially in the area, where everyone has an interest in exploring.
@yogi1774 knows the Coachella Valley quite well and knows most of the store out there, some of which I would really like to visit. If he can post some info of them here to enlighten, that would be great.

In the Redlands area, we have Darryl's pet shop, as well as our Salt water sponsor, Ocean Aquatics which is a wonderful place to visit that could offer a salt water tutorial, etc, as well as a number of great eateries in the immediate area.

San Bernardino has Pet World. Riverside has Elliott's.

I do not mind hosting a meet at my Casita, and we could do a number of things here, from Stand Building, euro bracing tank derimming, re-siliconing, etc.

Ideas! If you live in IE DEFINITELY post. If you want to visit, list what you want to see!

I live in the IE!! Unfortunately, I don't know any shops in the area. I'm way more familiar with San Diego shops. And places we've met at previously.

I would really enjoy not having to have to take the whole weekend and stay at my m-in-law's house just to attend a meeting. Driving somewhere that's just an hour or so would be awesome!

Nick do you have any contacts at any of the shops you mentioned?

I have contacts at all the shops i mentioned, but i wouldn't want to arrange anything tentative unless it looks like there is a good amount of interest garnered.

I am down to host at my place in Riverside as well- I have a relatively small house, but lots of covered seating areas outdoors.

I am not familiar with the shops you mentioned, other than Elliot's, which I can't recommend. How sad is it that Riverside has 300,000 people and not one decent LFS?

I don't have any valuable skills to demonstrate, so someone else would need to be in charge of providing the activity. I would love it if someone gave a Wabi Kusa demo...

I know lots of great food choices, though!

Strange thing about elliott's - best prices on special order fish, salt or fresh, but you have to have to have to get them before they get dropped into their tanks.

Also one of the best suppliers of custom tanks from Visio, price wise.

Why they do not choose to up their fish game as a whole? I cannot figure out.

There used to be 5 or 6 fish stores in Riverside. Lack of customers and bad economy forced them to close.

The best one got closed down because the owner was a crook, the others were just pretty bad.

I believe it was called Coral Reef, on Indiana, near where Arlington. The owner was named Sean, and also owned a VW tuning shop. Great quality, good employees, solid owner- but I guess he had tax problems and the IRS swooped in one night and seized everything.

Then there was one on Arlington, down almost to Van Buren that was run by a very nice lady named Lisa, I think, but the quality there always seemed very sketch. There was a super opinionated blonde lady that worked there that was always telling people they were doing their SW tanks wrong.

Fish Fantasy! That is right. I was pretty sure about Coral Sea, but I could certainly be wrong. Such a shame. It was a really nice store.

If I have to I goto Tropical Imports in Glendale. I don’t recommend only for the lack of customer service and having overpriced shrimp, fish and equipment

I’d vote for Ocean Aquatics since they’re sponsor and parking lot is huge. Though I preferred pet world because they have fresh/ salt and shrimps. I missed Daryls when they were located on Texas & Redlands blvd.
