Oh Iíve seen their huge blue rams, I didnít realize they were Holland rams. Definitely very impressive! Are they typical in that they should be kept as warm as discus?

In my experience, Rams donít need to be kept as warm as discus. I am not the apisto expert- hopefully Mike will chime in- but 78 should be fine.

They really are gorgeous fish. Trying to get a schedule laid out in order to make it to the meet, problem is itís a good friendís birthday weekend and we are unclear if we will be doing anything Sunday or not.

Awesome video and awesome tank! I might have to get some Holland rams. Been really wanting apistos but the price makes them a little less attractive.

    Thanks!

We have some great apisto breeders here in the club, so you might get some at great prices if you ask around...

That is a really nice-looking room.

Does your (handsome!) cat ever take an interest in the tank?

Thanks! No, she is way too fat and lazy- our other cat however does enjoy jumping up and hanging out on the glass brace in the middle of the tank! Never seems interested in the fish, though- just the occasional drink.

Ha! I flip one around when I want a closer look, but I like sitting on the comfy couch where I can see the whole thing- especially now that it is serene again, and not just the geo's terrorizing everyone!

It will look a lot less bare once the background plants fill in again.

    geektom's 135 gallon adventure

Ok, when I first laid out the 135, I envisioned a wall of moss covered rocks across the whole tank. I tried gluing the moss on the larger stones after the wall was built, but it just never worked. Now, after building the walls higher, and thanks to the auction yesterday, I am adding moss covered smaller stones that will hopefully grow out and give me the same look I was hoping for in the beginning.

I also used the crypts from the meet to fill in the bare spaces created when I did the big purge a couple of weeks ago

Was lucky enough to snag some of one of my favorite plants, PROSERPINACA PALUSTRIS, or Mermaid Weed. My lights are not super intense, but hopefully they will be enough to cause some fringes to appear.

I know 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's aquarium" is a commandment but I am having some sinful tank envy right now.

    It looks great.

Aw, thanks so much! I have learned a lot with this one, that is for sure- but I am still very happy with it.
