It is going into my wife's office next week. She wants acropora in it, but I'm not sure this maxxspect mazara will pull it off. Even so, i will try.

This week be mostly an acan and zoa tank with a midas blenny and pendant a bangaii cardinal.

Yeah, likely not sufficent lighting for acropora but you could still keep some great stuff with what you have.

What I'm loving about having a planted tank after 30 years of reef keeping is that when something isn't perfect for the tank, I haven't killed something that cost me $100.

adds support to the rocks, protects the tank bottom from scratches, helps keep slope/shape. I know nothing about salt water, but I can come to conclusions.

Some folks put a layer of sand down below the rocks before they scape. Some do not put anything at all. Others put down PVC. I put down egg crate under just about everything. It lets me pre scape before putting in sand and water, but i leave most of it there before putting down thick aggregate, and then tye hard scape, and then the fine grain stuff.

Holds it firm, keeps it from sliding, and most importantly, if the scape falls over, it keeps the glass fro, cracking.

Tank is now cycling in my wife's office. Cloudy from the oolite substrate, but clearing up quickly.

Awesome job on the tank but I see you missed a "Honey-Do", that painting to the right of the tank needs to be hung pronto! Lmao.
Can't wait to see it when its stocked.

    LOL.

She shrugged when I asked her about that painting. I think it came down a couple months ago and they never figured out a place to put it.
