Low tech tank 40 breeder "Bukit Berahu"

My first attempt doing aquascaping with rock and wood.

I am planning to have this as a low tech tank. but might think to add co2 in the future. I named it as "Bukit Berahu", a place in Indonesia.

    Tank : 40 breeder
Substrate :about 2.5 bag of black diamond blasting sand (cheap soil, added root tab) 50lb/bag
Light : 2 Wing Led from reef breeder
Hardscape : manzanita from ck and stone from mike (bongo)

    First day of scaping :

A few days after, planting day :

I also added some fissiden moss to manzanita wood by using thread.

Blasting sand. That is an interesting choice. What made you think of that?

    Thanks all.
@sc91006 going to keep cichlid like angel fish,etc...
@Nick its cheap and i'd like to try inert substrate. LoL... blastingsand it's like play sand or pool sand filter, this sand just happened to be dark (black) which is my choice.

This is inspirational. I'm planning a low-light 40b, so this thread is bookmarked for ideas.

BTW, what are you using to hold the hill in shape?

I used the rock, i started from low hill and keep adding rock one at the time and add substrate to fill the gap.

Repositioned the rock to the desire location or shape.

Im thingking,i still lack something on this landscape. Its seems like the scaling its too much or a bit off.

The substrate its pretty cheap, $8/bag 1 bag=50lbs you just need a root tab if you wish to add plant.
