    Baby shrimp food?

Anyone using baby shrimp food and think it's worth it/works? I add Bacter AE here and there, but wondering if adding baby shrimp food helps the fry survive. Any recommendation?

I've kept several colonies going, including shrimplets, by only adding occasional wafers and pellet food (Hikari shrimp cuisine) and no specific baby food. I can't imagine it hurts, but I think a well planted tank with lots of biofilm goes a long way.

I dont really know if it helps but my shrimp go crazy over it. I used bacter AE, double speed, and lowkeys all in one. You just get a moist tooth pick and cover it up and just dip that in the tank or sprinkle it over moss and you can see the shrimp go crazy over it. They are a bit pricey so look for sample sizes ( a little sample bag lasted me a good couple months) at hans. Just make sure you dont use too much of it!

I don't feed my shrimp tanks anything besides the flake for the fishies. Biofilm goes a long way.

I drop in infusoria from time to time, as well as the occasional algae pellet and snowflake.

When I was breeding them heavily I never fed the babies directly. I maybe fed the adults some of the Kens spirulina sticks with calcium. That was usually enough for everyone in the tank to supplement their food aside from what they could pick off of the plants and stuff.

SCAPE back in the day had its own shrimp food. The baby food worked good, but like others say I am not 100% sure that it made that much of a difference. You could get a sample sized portion from Han Aquatics for like $1.50

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Looks like I'll just stick with Bacter AE.
