Paludarium build number 2

I built my first Paludarium a month ago. http://scapeclub.org/forum/showthrea...t-a-Paludarium Although I liked my first attempt it wasn't really what I wanted.

So I decided to tear down the tank and try again. 5g tank with spray foam/quikrete faux back.

I learned very quickly making the back would be easier done outside of the tank and then adhering it to the back of the tank. The foam part was easy but applying the quikcrete in very tight spaces was hard.

For the side piece with the filter I decided to make it outside the tank and attach it when done.

I also realized I should have done 3 coats of quikcrete. Got a little bit of cracking. Hoping the plants cover that.

Had to do a bunch of preemptive water changes because the quikcrete raises the pH. Did about 7 water changes.

Basic finished product. I have a bunch of moss and plants ordered but with the bad weather back east my shipment has been delayed.

Got a small fogger for misting the plants outside of the water. The effect looks pretty cool imo.

Once I get more plants in I'll post an update.

Thanks for the compliments. This was the first time I attempted something like this. I'm still learning myself. Thank god for YouTube.
