Just an update, had to cull out 20 shrimps over the weekend. Had about 10 almost clear one and some pretty low quality red ones. I'm probably going to move the best red ones to my 10 gallon and move some more lower grades ones to my other tank. Didn't want to disturb tank too much since there's still about 3 berried females, don't want to stress them for no reason. What do you guys do with the culls?

Another tips i learned from Seattle aquarist, aim a bamboo chopstick in front of your shrimp, shrimp will hop off and you are ready to net those shrimp out or taking picture with it.

Feeding time with GlasGarten SnowFlakes prior to culling. Just bought a bag to try. Shrimps seems to like it. 30g is tiny, too expensive I think.

2 Are you using RO water? If so, what are you using for re-mineralize the water?
    3. What type of food for the shrimp?

Also, I noticed that the temp 73 degree, I think they like it higher but whatever you're doing its working
There is a guy on letgo sells Bloody Mary shrimp in Glendale and grows in some for free

Just some update, need to clean the glass again. Marimo moss carpet needs a good vacuum this weekend too. Tried the petri dish that I grabbed from work, it was just too light tends to hoover/float a bit. Ended up buying some dish on eBay, Boba straws are awesome though.

Feeding time, just sprayed some GlasGarten Shrimp Baby in via water solution. Adults and young seems to love this stuff more than the GG Bacter AE. GG Snowflake stuff is still their favorite. I've tried Indian Almond Leaves, dried Mulberry Leaves, fresh organic spinach and fresh organic kale (took some from my wife's salad bag), GG Shrimp Dinner, BorneoWild Red Ruby, Shrimp King Biotase (caution this stuff creates a lots of biofilm use sparingly).
From my limited experience with my Bloody Mary shrimps. I would rank GG Snowflake as #1, GG Shrimp Baby as #2 prepared food, dried Mulberry leaves (reboiled for 5 minutes) favorite dried leaf, and blanched organic spinach as favorite fresh vegetable. My CRS in the other tank doesn't really seem to swarm anything, they seem to like blanched organic spinach.

    Hey Khai,

How is your moss carpet doing? How's the maintenance? I am thinking about making one for my nano.

    Hi Sonny,

Moss carpet not as bright and green as before, still completely intact. I'll provide some updated photos once I figure how to get all my images so everyone can see. Thanks for asking.

Hi Sam, I'll PM you next time I cull more. You can have it for free They should breed with fire red but not sure you want to do that, the colors of fire red will be better than my culls.

You dont want to breed bloody mary shrimp with fire red cherries, they have a different lineage. All the neocaridina shrimp we have came from 3 main parent lineages, the bloody mary lineage comes from the same as chocolates, carbons, and I believe blue diamond.
Now this isnt me saying you might not be able to get some cool looking shrimp eventually, but it will take a lot of time and a lot of culling. I did quite a bit if research about cross breeding neocaridina, theres a few people out there doing it and I tried with blue diamond and blue velvet but those didnt turn out too well due to the different lineages. If you want to try cross breeding with a greater chance of success try to stick with same lineage, cherrys with orange sunkist, yellow sakura, blue velvet/blue dream. Bloody mary's with chocolates, carbons, blue diamond. It will still take time and selective breeding though.

Nope haven't tried it. That sounds interesting though Danny. Any photos of actual results would be cool to see.

The tank is looking gooooood Khai, I see that the moss ball carpet got darker but your shrimp's color are super nice.

    Questions:
How are you keeping the floaters in one section?
Would you do the moss carpet again?
Is the carpet hard to clean?
    Can I have some cull?

    Hi Sonny,

Here are the answers to your questions:
How are you keeping the floaters in one section? The bubble pushes it to one side, I do nothing I try to only have 2/3 of the top with dwarf water lettuce, anymore it gets to crowded.
Would you do the moss carpet again? Yes, it's low maintenance and doesn't seem to accumulate algae. I like the subwassertang too, easier to work with than moss, I notice my moss gets gunked up pretty badly in other tanks if I don't siphon them religiously.
Is the carpet hard to clean? No pretty easy, use a small 3/8" hose to suck up debris on carpet. I keep a finger on the outlet in the bucket to control flow and not suck up the baby shrimps.
Can I have some cull? Sure, I'll let you and SamSam know once I have time to cull some more.
