    10 gallon Dragonstone Tank

This is my 10 gallon Dragonstone Tank. Pretty proud that I have finally been able to get a carpet of Hemianthus Callitrichoides (Dwarf Baby Tears). Wanted to share my success story.
I haven't added any livestock yet. Tank has been running since the SCAPE meeting at CK FishWorld.

Below are the specs of this tank:
    Tank: ADA 45P (45x27x30cm)
    Lighting: Chihiros RGB45 (45cm)
CO2 System: GLA Pro-3 (Same system used on my two little nano tanks, 3 manifold system)
Heater: Hydor In-Line External Heater 200W
    Filter: Eheim 2213

Soil: ADA Aquasoil Amazonia Normal on bottom, topped with Powder on top layer.
    Dragonstone
Hemianthus Callitrichoides (Dwarf Baby Tears) (Dennerle Tissue Culture at CK FishWorld during SCAPE meeting)
Echinodorus Tenellus (Pygmy Chain Swords) at Tissue Culture BucePlants

Below are some pictures from start till now:

Good growth all around. How long do you have the lights on and how much CO2 are you pumping in? How long did the HC take to grow like that?

    Thank you!
I have the lights on 7 hours a day. CO2 is at 1.5bps using inline diffuser from GLA. My drop checker is bright neon yellow. HC has been growing for since Oct 22nd (last SCAPE meeting), about 3 weeks plus.

Thank you! Murphy's Law. Saturday morning tank had a bunch of hair algae and green algae on glass and stones. Removed all hair algae with toothbrush. Brushed algae off rocks, cleaned glass. Drained tank all the way down. Refilled with new water. Was my regular maintenance day so remineralized RO was ready. Lowered light from 118 PAR (number 7 setting) down to 101 PAR (number 6 setting). Changed lighting schedule down 6 hours instead of 7 hours. Dose 2.5ml of Excel. Today looks OK.

You've done a great job of keeping that chain sword from mixing in the HC and vice versa. That in itself is quite a feat. Looking good man!

    Thank you Carlos
I added a plastic barrier at the bottom of the substrate to keep things from spreading under the soil between the two sections. Only been trimming things I see trying to JUMP the barrier.

Many scrubs sessions and water changes later. Light intensity lowered further (4th level from possible 7 now), CO2 down to 70bpm from 110bpm over the course of 3 weeks. Algae seems to in control with 4 otos and 8 baby Bloody Marys Shrimps introduced 2 weeks ago. Everyone seems happy.

Couple questions. Currently I'm dosing EI but am afraid if I continually dose EI and do 50% water changes will that be bad for my blood mary shrimps? From everything I read, shrimp doesn't like big water change only 10-20% weekly. Also another concern, I have some crystal red shrimps on the way, will the EI dosing affect the CRS?. With just dwarf baby tears (Hemianthus Callitrichoides) and pygmy chain swords (Echinodorus Tenellus) as a carpet, can I switch to EI Light and have only 20% water changes? Will that hurt my plants?

    Couple pictures of new residents:

    A) make sure drop checker is in a medium green (too close to yellow woo kill shrimp and fish)
    B) ferts if too high will cause issues with shrimp (since everything is grown in you can lessen amounts)
    3) with lowered fertilizing you can reduce your water changes.

Sounds good. Just did 30% water change, will continue to another 30% tomorrow. Notice Nitrate was at 40ppm, definitely will cut down on fertilizers. Brought CO2 down to 60bpm now. Will try to get drop checker closer to dark green away from neon green. Shrimps and otos are still very active in the open.
