Fluval 88g kit regulator DIY build

Wrote a quick DIY on how I built my regulator off a fluval 88g kit.

Hope this helps many to come, as I had a hard time finding the parts/ information needed to build this.

    Really cool! Thanks!

How's the accuracy day to day with the Fluval needle valve? That's been my big issue with my Aquatek. Can't get a constant repeatable bubble count. I have a Fluval with a paintball adapter in the garage so I'm part of the way there...

Not sure if youíll believe this but VERY consistent. A first I thought it was, but as time goes by it holds it count. Of course when it first clicks on bubbles come rushing out. But as it settles it comes back right to where I had set it. Iím quite blown away by the accuracy of this regulator. Even the feel of it seems to be nothing but quality. Fluval did a great job. Needle valve is fantastic in my opinion. Itís worth adding a 40$ solenoid and hooking it up.

I can independently confirm that this is a great DIY! I replaced my Aquatek and it's way more accurate. Turns on every day at exactly the same bubble count, which is more than I can say for the Aquatek which has real problems at 1 bpm. Thanks again for posting this DIY!

So my 88g is on a 20oz paintball tank with a Milwaukee solenoid. It has been better than my Aquatek and Milwaukee for small tanks. My aquatek was so bad it gassed my fish. If you need accuracy for small tanks... many regulators just don't appear to be accurate. You will find this is a pretty common complaint in a lot of regulators.
