    Who is this guy?

I haven't seen this guy until today, it was floating upside down so I thought it was one of my missing assasins. But realized the shell was not stripped. I pulled it out since it was floating then noticed him peak out. Now he's on my plants. Keep or?

Could've started as a hitchhiker egg and since then has maybe hid in the substrate.

Its a PITA to get rid of them all without nuking the tank. If you cut back on feeding and take care of any algae in the tank you'll see the numbers reduce.

snail is natural living. most of the time came from plant or Soil (substrate). if you dont like it, either use assassin snail, pea puffter or manually remove by using blanched leaf as a bait.

A hungry assassin snail will help for sure. A pea puffer would take out the shrimp as well.

Do you have a lot of left over food left in the tank after feedings?

Assasin snail also kill shrimp, since shrimp is faster than snail, You wont see this happening a lot. But for sure assasin snail will eat almost sick/slow shrimp.

If this happening in your shrimp tank, i would suggest go with mulberry leaf or zucchini as a bait. Or "predator" is known for killing hydra or unwanted snail.

I agree with dealend, snails are natural and part of this hobby. I don't mind these guys so much. I think they look pretty cool when fully grown but they do reproduce rapidly. Getting to the eggs is one easy way to slow the population. I also have to manually remove on a weekly bases but I really don't mind it all that much. They help keeping algae at bay.

I used to hate snails, then I transitioned my 29g to a brackish tank with 2 Figure 8 Puffers. Now whenever I see these guys in a tank I think "well theres tonights snack) lol.
