    Thanks, man!

Yes, based on all that I have read, I will come back in one Monday and it will be shooting to the surface. If that happens, I will try trimming and see if I can keep it in check.

If that doesn't work, I will break it down and start over with Monte Carlo or something similar.

In the meantime, I am just going to enjoy it for what it is.

Ok, came back from a 6 day business trip and was expecting to find a disaster- instead, I found just a little bit of algae and a tiny bit of melting by the filter. I think the melting was because a big leaf from the houseplant was shading that area. Algae is green thread- I am going to dim the light a bit and start dosing with Excel.

Leaves are getting bigger on the carpet, Eager to see a few weeks from now how the plants look. If they continue to remain low this may just work well for carpet in a larger tank.

I am wondering if the pretty intense light is keeping it low? I dimmed it about 20% today to help with algae, so we'll see!

Haven't updated this in a while- I had some melt, but not a disaster so far. I am getting some fuzzy algae I have not seen before- any algae is usually undesirable, but I have to admit, I like how this looks. You can see a nerite about to lay into it- we'll see if it lasts!

Also, apparently I messed up by adding the CRS... as they promptly disappeared. Like, I literally cannot find them living or deceased anywhere in or around the tank.

    Nano desktop for shrimp

Cleaned up then scape a bit- the mystery seeds are definitely starting to die off, so added some Japanese hydrocotyle to start filling in. Replaced the disappeared CRS with regular Cherry Shrimp. They have been in for a week now and are doing well.

You can see they have done a great job on the algae, too.

Thanks for the update, I'm also starting a desktop nano tank. I'll create a thread to document the progress soon.

    Great job.
