My third scape 40g breeder (pic heavy)

I'm still a newb but thought I'd share the third scape I have ever done. SPECS: 40g breeder, Filtration- Fluval 206, Substrate- Flora Max, Dosing Excel, Going to get a new light this week (currently using the light from my 20g).

Plants: Foxtail, Christmas Moss, Java Fern, 1/2 Monte Carlo 1/2 Dwarf baby Tears, Dwarf Hairgrass, Anubias nana, Ludwigia.

Planning stage and initial set up

My first attempt at dry start. I learned I have very little patience because I only did the dry start for about a week and a half and decided to flood the tank.

I built the stand/cabinet. It's made out of pallets and reclaimed wood.

Nice set up. I like the stand you built! You should see the one I built for my 40. Just enough to hold the tank up. No cabinets or drawers. I just hide the equipment (and stand) with a cloth. haha.

Funny you should say that, I actually did re-hang it. It was bugging me.

    Here's the original

    scaped tank final.jpg

And here it is about 3 months later.

    unnamed.jpg

About the only difference is I gave up on the Dwarf baby Tears that weren't carpeting liked I hoped (mainly just growing algae). So I decided to go with Dwarf Sag. Also added Jungle Val behind the driftwood on the right. Also got a better light.

Bruce Nice update, I like the replacement plant choice for that carpet it I believe gives the environment a more natural feel instead of a forced beauty look in conjunction with the other plants in your tank(if you understand what I am trying to say). Only suggestion is when those dwarf sag grows more just spread/fill it more as if it was a carpet plant.
I noticed you did a fish change to from sunburst platies to guppy, it not an oto but the other one that has the same pattern and whats the third?

Thanks. I originally had two platy's but they both died. I think what you are seeing is my Cremecycle Molly. And yes I'm hoping to carpet the Sag more. I just put it in a couple of days ago.

Bivisen Aquarium Hood Light. I still need to get one more. Don't think I am getting the amount of light I need.
