My 15g Pinto Shrimp Tank Build

Well it all started Dec. 1, 2016 when I saw a deal on Pintos, that I couldn't resist. I told the seller to hold off for 2 weeks, while I prepare everything.
1 week wasted :l Nothing happened. (Just kidding, I had school finals :l)
Winter Break: Gathered material from tanks, filters, wood, hardware, and etc...
    Couple Pics of stuff

Picked up a tank from CK. Kinda feels sketchy with the back wall not, being flushing with the front glass, so leak test time is a go.

Good thing, it passed the leak test.

So next step, time to install the Corner HMF.
    HMF.jpg
    Really easy to setup.

    Finished:

    Okkkay wood time.

Well, I guess I am limited to 5 pictures per post. So here is part 2.

Welp my pintos came in, but my stand isn't ready :l
https://i.imgur.com/HJM4QLD.jpg Welp off to put them into temporary housing. One died, ouch that was 12 dollars :l

Since this was my first time working on a "big" wood project. I ran into some issues and lacking the proper tools, makes it a bit more challenging or more "fun".
    fun.jpg

Seems just a bit overbuilt for a 15g haha.
    wood2.jpg

Looks quite pretty with the frosted glass and the tank on it. (Ignore my friend thanks, he helped with stand building and putting that frosted glass on. )
    wood3.jpg

So stand is painted and sealed and ready to go.
    wood4.jpg

After many attempts to figure out my hardscape, I think this will be the base for my final project.
    aquascape.jpg

And this concludes part 2. Time to aquascape the tank.

    Part 3!
    Aquascaping time

    Huh looks familiar right?
    aquascape1.jpg

Just added water. I wonder if the stingray can carpet monte carlo. Or should I upgrade to a planted plus 24/7? What do you guys think?
    Aquascape2.jpg

Well I kinda cycled??? Added an established bag of bioballs and added magic powder. Recording water paramters. 0/0/30 (Ammonia/nitrities/nitrates) Looks good. Time to water change and add shrimps. (Not aged long enough in my opinion :l Wish me luck I guess)

Well got some shrimp from Yaouch. These red wines are looking quite good. (Yes, yes I know these aren't pintos. But they will be the "Cheap" pioneers) Please don't die shrimp.
    redwine.jpg

They seemed to have settled, really well and are off to doing shrimp stuff. So far so good.
    redwine2.jpg

So far the finished setup. (I think I may paint that door, but I am really liking that two tone look. Might want some black trim then as well.
    tank1.jpg

Well, that is it for now. I will update as stuff changes

Nice tank, enjoy. I recently going back to shrimps after a few months. I prefer shrimps in a planted tank now especially when they are in a low iron rimless tank. Enjoy the tank.

Haha, sorry I lied, this is the real pioneer shrimp. Just a random CRS from one of my tanks.

I like to see scaped shrimp tanks instead of just soil ad a sponge filter. the scape looks great. it has good balance, and the build too.

I agree dirt and sponge filter gets old pretty fast, it is just nice to have something to look at. But I can`t argue with the effectiveness and cost to setup just a basic breeding setup. Also thanks

Lets say not good Had to leave for over a week and didn't have a timer hooked up, so lets just say I have a gha party right now. Also tried to fix it by using co2 and dosing ferts, but managed to not pay attention when i hooked up co2 and gassed 3 red wines. RIP Here is a link to a current picture https://imgur.com/Eef6iiQ
