Question What am I missing? Will this be all I need?

    Hey all,

So, after discussions here I started looking for regulators and ran across one on sale at Amazon. So... will this work? And yeah, already bought it so hope it will... but do I need anything more?

UP AQUA UA-168 paintball and disposable bottles Regulator
Rhinox Airline Tubing, 2 Check Valves & 3 Suction Cups included: 6 Feet in length, Standard fit for all aquariums air pump, BPA Free
    Fluval CO2 Bubble Counter
    Fluval Ceramic CO2 Diffuser

All in, $44.65. I think I just need a paintball CO2 tank, correct? And maybe later an inline solenoid? Yep, I went super cheap, but my aim was a paintball system.

    Thanks!

That should technically work. You will definitely be doing manual co2 until you get a solenlod.

I might pick one up for my reef tank.

Manual co2 sucks, you'll eventually want a solenoid. For what it's worth, look into co2art regulators.

Is an inline solenoid a bad solution to use?

    - If plants go beyond anacharis... I have questions.
    - 5 gallons is for more than Bettas

Not familiar with those type of solenoids but my guess would be that it should work fine given that it fits your regulator. I used to have a fluval manual regulator and if I had to do it all over again, I would get either a co2art regulator or gla regulator with auto solenoid without a doubt instead. From experience manually adjusting co2 is a pain and most often times results in inconsistencies in co2 along with needle valves that are unable to offer better precision. I'm more of a sit back and just let the plants grow sort of person so if you want a system that'll allow you to set once and forget about it, that's the way to go.

In line actually goes on the air line. This is an example: https://www.amazon.com/CO2-magnetic-...enoid+aquarium

A planted aquarium CO2 regulator with solenoid will be a great choice because I don't think an inline solenoid can work fine. You can also buy a CO2 kit.

Any updates on your tank? Are you happy with what you end up getting for the co2
