    New setup for discus

    Hi all,

I'm working on my new setup for my discus. This time will be a display tank where houses around 10-15 discus.

Tank is acrylic, made by Advanced Acrylic. Dimension 60x24x27, thickness is 3/4"
Sump is acrylic also, dimension 40x18x20, thickness is 1/2", wet and dry

    Sketches:

    Products:

Wow! Nice job with that stand! It looks very clean and well put together And the tank/sump look very nice.

Will this be a bare bottom setup for the discus?

Nice setup though not sure why you'd want to run a wet/dry bioball sump setup with fish that are demanding of excellent water quality. Were you going to use something other than plastic bioballs for media in there?

It will be biotopes setup for them this time. It's gonna be a display tank, so I don't plan to grow out or breed them anymore.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yeah, I'm gonna use marine cubes and bioballs as media, and I am still doing frequent water change for them. Been keeping discus for years and tired of growing out and breeding. This time will be a display tank, biotopes setup. It will have a thin layer of sand, driftwood, 10 AMG discus, corycats, and a group of schooling fish but not sure what to get since cardinal and rummy nose are too small comparing to discus.

I am considering a rhombus from AA or CD. I really like their work they do for sumps.

    Your build is stellar.

Thanks bubby. I just work on it a little bit day by day. I take time to enjoy building it though.

Well... I had a slightly different customer service experience. But the product was fine and to my specs. I picked mine up at their shop and got to see their guys working too.
