Help Me Choose Light for 5 Gallon

Trying to decide between: 18" Zoomed LED HO with plant modules, Coralife Aqualight Mini, Finnex Planted+ clip on model, or JBJ Macro Glo 25 watt. Definitely want to grow carpet plants this time. What do you guys think? Standard 5 gallon 16 long, 11 tall. Want to stay under $100.

You should wait for the new Twinstar LED's to come out, they look promising

I can tell you riht now. The zoomed light is way to much light for that tank. Zoomed uses a combination of 3w and 1w leds with optics. It will blast the heck out of your tank and cause crazy algae. That being said the 24" model works great on my 60p.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't like the Zoomed fixture not being available with the plant modules straight away so I went with a 16" Finnex Planted+. On Plantedtank.net a member thought even that would be too much light for my tank. Was planning on dosing excel daily with ferts. What do you guys think? Maybe I will just run a shorter photo period like 6-8 hours.

Planted plus should be okay. If not you could always raise it a few inches with little effort.

I prefer Finnex Planted, my tank looks so great with the Finnex planted aquarium LED light. It is both cheap and best.

Yeah, that's what I ended up with. Actually, the Finnex Planted+ which was the only one that came in 16" still. Nice fixture and the color is ok IMO.
