Awesome awesome dude! I'm sure your pretty excited to get it filled and running. Don't worry too much about the soil, exposing it to air doesn't effect it in any way, you can think of it like sand in that sense. Keep us updated I'll be subscribing

So I've been messing with it all day lol and I think this is my final scape. My plants should be here Monday! I'm so excited!!!

UG will be every where except for possibly behind the rocks at the top, any suggestions for there? I was thinking something similar to UG just more bushy and longer maybe some sort of sagittaria?

I like the addition of the sand path, it gives a nice break from it being all carpeting plants. But I can't help the feeling like my eyes are drawing an imaginary "m" from each stone to the other, maybe if you can sink and angle (tip the top forward) of the third stone from the left downwards towards the path a bit more? Or even add a few smaller stones around one of those two larger ones in the middle? Idk just something to help break up the symmetry a bit, and make the rocks look they've been laid out together a bit more naturally (idk if you get what I mean)? Ultimately it's up to what feels right for you, you still have time to play around. And don't feel like once the plants go in and you fill it with water you can't touch the tank anymore. But all in all I'm still digging what your doing.

Thank you! I didn't even notice the "m"! Lol bur you're right the rocks do seem a bit monotonous. I would lay out smaller rocks around the bigger ones but I don't have any lol I will try your suggestion about tilting the one on the right down more when I get home tonight. Thanks for the feedback!

I am a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very happy person right now....

    20160201_161739.jpg

I probably could have done a more even job planting, but they will grow out so I guess it's fine.

When I was cutting the T/C I was trying to go for 6 pieces but they were so big and hard to plant so I cut smaller pieces and they were a lot easier to plant. The big ones look kind of sketchy like they might float lol but the smaller ones look fine, hopefully they'll grow?

My water is apparently super oxygenated hopefully that won't cause the plants to float, so far after about half an hour of being planted I'm not seeing any signs of floaters but we will see by tomorrow.

I'm so happy! I can't wait to see new growth!! I will probably add fish in three to four weeks

I can tell you are very happy and maybe the mannequin in the background too? Or is she cold? lol

Nice scape. Personally would have set the rocks off center to create a sense of balance in the scape.
Just trying to get my feet wet

Lol nope she's happy now that she has something to look at besides an empty room!

And I tried that but I just didn't like how short the sides looked. I have yet found an angle that makes it look good in a picture as it does in person

I think it has symmetrical with a hint of the thirds kind of balance, which I think is nice and refreshing because in person it looks amazing but it doesn't look like the kind of thing that everyone else is doing lol at least in my opinion.

Would this still be considered Iwagumi?

So after a week not much has changed at all except that my co2 system either sucks or my diffuser sucks. Which is weird because my last DIY co2 worked great and my co2 diffuser was great but now there is only one stream of big bubbles coming out.

I'm thinking about getting a paintball co2 tank with the aquateck mini regulator, any suggestions or advice? I'll upload pics of my co2 if anyone is interested. And I'll upload a pic of my tank if anyone is interested but it looks exactly the same lol
