    My new 75g project

Many of you may know that I take a while on builds. This one wasn't a huge exception to that, except that I for once didn't build the whole stand. This one was one of those premade ones, I simply reinforced it and added some stuff to it.

    The tank:
I got this 75g acrylic tank from John. I got the 40g breeder from a fellow scape member as well. I made it to a sump and learned how to weld acrylic while working on this sump

This is what the tank and sump looked like originally. Sorry, I can't find a front view of the DT but it is a standar 75g

Then I started working on the stand:
Working on stand.jpgWorking on stand 2.jpgWorking on stand 5.jpgWorking on stand 4.jpgWorking on stand 3.jpg

I bought 2x 4outlet dj strips and hooked one up to each side of the stand. Made it so that each one would plug in to its own outlet rather than combine them.

This picture shows the stand without the sump but with equipment in the place where they will go.

I also had to work on my overflow system. I started another thread on that, so check it out if you have questions on it. This was me in the build process and the last pic is of hard plumbing almost complete:

Lastly, I made a heater controller and a custom spray bar. I actually made 2 spray bar in case this one pictured has slots that are too large:

This will not be a fully planted tank. This will be a discus grow out tank for a while and then I will do DW and sand with some anubias attached to DW. I may get some floaters and see how that goes, but for now, I am not going fully planted with this.

I am yet to finish though. I still need to finish plumbing, I also need to paint DT bottom as well as install background. Stay tuned in.

I sold them locally. One passed after an illness and having only 4 was very frustrating and they kept fighting each other. I will be getting some juvies this time around, or some angels, depending how the cards play out

Speaking of that, my first few angels will be in LA area tomorrow. Wife on way to visit a friend flying into John Wayne Airport. So taking advantage to deliver Chris a few angels. Pulled him some nice Sunsets and Koi. One sunset I love cause it looks like a Tancho Kohaku Koi (white body with a nice deep orange small crown).. Maybe some day I can hook you up also..

I know right?!? Your tank/stand looks way different now right? lol. I've hit a lazy streak right now with the plumbing. Plumbing for the tank itself is done, but still need to work on incoming/outgoing plumbing to the front yard.

It is a skill out of necessity and cheapness, lol. I am fortunate enough that I have a lot of tools at my disposal, or else, these builds would be counterproductive

So this is eventually what ended up filling up my 75g. There were 25x 1"-1.5" discus in this 75g to begin with. I lost one (and I really mean lost because I never found the body) and the rest have been growing great. The largest one is past the 3" mark now but he is the exception. The others are in the 2.5 to closer to 3" mark.

This is a picture of the parents:

My friend Al Castro bred these Goh Fine Line Leopard Snakes (From GOH ENG KHOON breeder) and I wanted to take on the task of growing out a large group. I will eventually only end up with 8 and sell off the rest.
Because this isn't a stable strain, the parents threw out 9 and 14 bars. The 9 bars are all growing at a much faster rate than the 9 bars. It is fascinating because the 14 bars will more than likely be the ones that resemble the parents, while the 9 bars will more than likely all be leopards.

It has been fun raising these juvies so far. They get fed roughly 4-5 times a day and roughly a 60% WC daily.
