    Water garden

Well. Because of Bills thread. I did a search on CL and found a person selling Hyacinth and water lettuce for cheap so I got a bag full for $5.
Then I found a large 36x18 plastic tub for $15obo. I paid the full $15. Had some Taro in a pot I threw in and also have some Iris I plan on potting and putting in. I did find a guy with water lilies or $8 a bunch he says. But didn't and don't feel like the drive to Carson today.
Mesquito fish are free from Vector control. So that will be next stop.

On the water lillies, Homedepot was clearing them out for about 5 dollars a bulb. The bulb comes in this pot like thing so all you ahve to do is plop them in. I purchased some about a month ago and they already had leaves coming out of the bulb as soon as i opened the packaging. At the moment it's already a full plant with lots of leaves.

And are all taro submergable like the one you have there? I tried looking for some information on them but it seems like most grow them in the ground. I got mine form the supermarket (the small kind).

I'll check HD tomorrow maybe. Well, I have had these guys for several years. Sort of think they went bonsai on me. Because they came from a much larger plant form he old house. But have been in this tiny planter for a very long time.
I've seen it in pots submerged before in large ponds. I'll have to research it deeper.

Hmm I think I might try a taro plant in water. Those taros you got do seem pretty small for a few years old:P

Yeah. Hopefully I don't kill them. If they start heading South. I'll yank them. I've always kept that little planter with water in it. Has no hole in bottom. I'd hate to lose my little friend. I have plants no more that twigs hanging on. But they've been around so long hard to just toss them.
