    75 Gallon Discus Tank Remodel

So I got tired of having my discus always looking dark and not showing their colors in my original setup. See below.

This made me decide to re-do my plant layout and my substrate. There wasn't much else I could do with my driftwood and I am still deciding whether I want to bring rocks into it but here is the tank with the new substrate and plant layout.

    So it begins.

Getting some of the plants placed.

    Here comes the water.

    Filled up and cloudy.

Finally clear with my little guys comfy in their new home.

The one I call Mama being followed around by my little ones. They are about 2 to 2.5 inches.

Here is the one I call Big Blue hiding under my Tiger Lotus.

Please excuse the dirty glass as I didn't do a full wipe down after changing the substrate and water.

I also just ordered some Anubias Nana and Barteri so once I get that added to my driftwood and tank I will update with more photos.

Let me know your thoughts or advice on what I should add as well as any other things that could help my tank that much better!

Your tank looks beautiful and I love your school of discus.
After 50 years I do many things right, but still get things wrong

like the new look, the light substrate should make them color up lighter, compared to the darker substrate, and it makes the tank seem happier/lighter

Thanks! I actually feel like the Discus are out and about more since the switch. Not sure if it would actually do anything for their mood but I feel like it has.

    Update!

I got my Anubias in and finally got it added to my tank and driftwood. The Barteri is attached at the base of the large piece of driftwood while the Nana is attached to the branches.

    With Anubias attached!

I know it's a little late but where did you get that driftswood?

    Nice discus tank!

Which substrate did you use? I'm in the process of buying some for my current set up.
