Screen Names~What Do They Mean....

I look at peoples screen names and sometimes try to figure out just what they mean, or how you came you with it. Does it have a profound meaning?
Was it possibly a nick name that you were tagged with by piers or while growing up? Some are obvious, some are not.

Mine is fairly easy to decipher. Fordtrannyman is my occupation.
I've been a mechanic since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. So I chose to apply my mechanical abilities and to pursue specialized training in the most complicated aspects of a motor vehicle, the Transmission. I have always been a Ford fan and an electronics geek, so it fits me well.

Watch Hockey?
If you do, and you know more then just what the score is, you don't need an explaination, but if you don't know what hockey is all about, if you think it is Boxing on Ice, then you need to hear this.

There is a Blue 1/2 circle with the corners cut off - used to be a full 1/2 circle, but they cut the ends off at the goal posts in recent years. This area is knows as the Goal Crease. That is the name I chose for my first accont on AOL way back when, 94 or 96 or something like that. You all remember the first time you had to choose a screen name and it kept poppin back "name already in use" how about LAMER12467 or LAMO17645 or LAMEDUCK75647 and you go
NO THANKS and try something else and get the "NAME ALREADY IN USE"
And you do that over and over hoping one of your creations will stick.

I mean, how many people out there want the name GOALCREAS, and that was not my first choice by a long shot.

But when I got a variation on the spelling "goalcreas" with no "e" on the end to stick, I ran with it and never looked back. I am now "goalcreas" on everything.

I used to have the e-mail addy goalcreas@sbcglobal.net when I lived in Corona, before I moved to phoenix. I kept that address for a LOOOOOOONG time until SBC Global(SBC YAHOO) realized that I was not in Corona and or paying for their service anymore and made me switch over to a YAHOO free account. They made me change the screen name but let me keep all my settings and stuff in tact, weird, apparently there was another goalcreas@yahoo.com, so I had to change and I added the TW (toby wood) to the front and it is now twgoalcreas@yahoo.com.

So If I can't be "goalcreas", then I take "twgoalcreas"

Last name is Pirrone. It rhymes with Pepperoni. I have been called, beefaronie, baloney, macaronie as well as many others, Pepperoni just stuck. When I lived in Catalina Island every one of my friends added the word head after their names. You know just one of those goofy things you do when your in your 20s. So it became Pepperonihead. Every one has called me that, including customers, family members, friends and who ever. It is goofy and I am very goofy, so it fits me well.

I always read it as pepper ion head. I That is was somethin' scientific.
Couldn't imagine someone calling themselves a pepperoni head. LOL

The day I got my first truck I installed a CB radio and took off gallivanting in the country. Something like half an hour later the CB community was discussing what handle I should use when I hit a patch of black ice and they were graced with a long list of superlatives about my condition. About the only clean words I said were spouted as I narrowly missed a huge oak still covered with the morning frost. It sounded something like bleep, bleepedy, ... ,bleep, frozen oak, bleep, bleep, oh, thank god, I'm think I got it.

It was then decided that I would always be known as Frozenoak and I have kept it for all applications requiring aliases.

As funny as it sounds to me, I'm sure it wasn't funny when it happened.

Well I think mine is fairly self explanatory, seeing as I am into freshwater planted aquariums. But...truth be told I didn't want to use the other names I have gone by online...

Back when I use to Hash, I was known as "BeerDrinker". When I gamed I started using that nic' as well. I felt that was prob. not the best nic to use on outdoor recreation sites, plus teenagers online and all... thus my online moniker became "OBPaddler" (Ocean Beach Paddler). I used this on all the local Kayak fishing websites. Though looking back BeerDrinker would have been quite appropriate on a fishing website!!!

When I started freahwater planted tanks I was kinda anti salt tanks because I thought they where too much maintenance, but...those refugiums look pretty dang cool. And a nice salt setup would be a hellova lot less work than my planted tanks!
