    The RULES are:

    - Must send an email with your name (+user name), home address, phone number, and estimated length of use to "scapeboard@gmail.com".

    - The club's par meter must be picked up and returned at the SCAPE club meeting.

    - At the time of pick up you will pay a $20 refundable deposit and ID will be verified at the meeting check in table.

    - When finished return the intact par meter "no later than the next/following club meeting". If use is finished early the club may sanction inter-member exchange of the par meter.
NOTE: Failure to return the par meter on time may lead to (loss of deposit, disciplinary and/or legal actions).

Please do not attempt to check out the meter if you can't adhere to the above rules.

It would be best to sign up when you are ready to use the meter and all users should be considerate and make it ready for the next member as soon as they are finished.

    1. Please send an email with your name (+user name), home address, phone number, and estimated length of use. Email address "scapeboard@gmail.com".

    2. We will then try to arrange for you to meet and pick up the meter from Darren (previous user).

    3. At the time of pick up you will give Darren $20 (his refunded deposit and your down payment).

This way we will have a record of the users signing it out and the deposit is paid by and returned to the appropriate members.

    Thanks.

Richard you are the only one to send the required email. You can contact Dylan (DGF) and follow the procedure above to acquire the meter.

It would be cool for those using the Par meter to document the values here or another thread. That way the info is available to those who have the same light set-up or are considering a light set-up.

    Hello SCAPERS,
In using the PAR meter I found the most challenging part was to get the sensor on the meter to be completely plumb or point straight up. I was getting a lot of inaccurate readings. For instance i would check one tank, record the results and then move on to the next tank.Every time I re checked I got different readings. So I figured out a way to make this tool a lot more user friendly :-)

Take a peek at these pictures, I made the holder out of a 2 dollar adjustable shelf standard. I noticed the par meter head had a screw on the opposite end of the sensor.
So I drilled the existing screws hole a tad bigger and screwed the PAR meter head onto the self made bracket.

notice the head is positioned on the back side of the bracket for stability

In doing so it makes the unit much easier to use, read & record your results

I was able to take many readings at various locations in no time at all.

In fact I am done doing roughy 6 tanks.
I hope to post pictures of the tanks and the readings I got along with type of lighting, how far above the substrate, and weather of not the light had a splash guard ( 1/16 plexi or on my DIY fixtures 1/4" plate) I recorded at three elevations bottom, midway & just below the waters surface.

Alex - I am finished. Please send me a PM with a cell number so we can arrange for a pick up

Hope you all enjoy my little holder
