A week ago I pulled some plants from my 55 gal and put them in a tub with some tap water. Yesterday I see movement in the tub....assume it was a scud or mosquito...

If you don't have a scale.....mix the packet up in a 16oz bottle of water (you might have to dump out a little water first).

Shake really well to dissolve.
