Hey all, just saying hi. I used to live in Irvine, but now reside in Torrance.

I gotta say.. the transformation that's taken place here is astounding. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone either again, or for the first time. I also hope I can contribute to the growth of this club!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

David, I'm just about where the 405 and Western meet. (Just to clarify, you're the David that drove up to UCLA a few times for plants right?)

Hopefully that helps with raking in some monayyy

Job market is scary though..

It has been rough for a while for a lot of the engineering fields. I majored in EE with a minor in Computer Science and had a hard time in 2004-2005 finding jobs too. Since then a lot of people bailed on engineering since the jobs weren't there and it's a lot of work to get through. I know plenty that switched to business since it was so easy by comparison :lol

hehe, seems like there's a good number of egrs here.

Manufacturing engineer @ Cal Poly Pomona, class of '10...hopefully :D. [fingers crossed for economy this coming year]

I know plenty of people who made the change from engineering to business. I saw this one day on a chalkboard in a physics lab:

[imagine this written as a limit equation]
"the limit as GPA approaches zero of Engineer Major = Business Major"

actually i hate math, my guidance councilor forced me into the major because a) it was my 3rd year at ucla and i hadn't declared a major yet and b) it was the only one i could get into with my low gpa :Einstein:

haha, so you can stop bowing and start laughing at me now...

Did you get your graduate degree there?

nope, only did my undergrad at ucla... finished in '01, tried to find a job but ended up spending the whole year cracked out on WoW, and then eventually went to cal state long beach and got my graduate degree in computer science ;)

I'm sorry you had to lock in on math against your will. That sucks. It certainly sounds impressive (see above :lol), so hopefully it turned out alright :thumbsup
